Simple To Use. Simple To Order.

I am married, 61 and have been made redundant in March 2020. I hope that my experiences may give you reassurance. (may not be in the right order, but you get the gist). It is the second week of the STAY AT HOME, STAY ALERT Covid-19 lockdown.

That's it, this week I will speak to a solicitor and get some FREE advice.

Solicitor One:

“you have a very good case for constructive dismissal and ageism in the workplace.”
COST:

  • £120 per hour OR
  • £4k covering multiple emails / letters OR
  • 20% of all money collected, this included statutory redundancy payment.
  • No Win No Fee does not apply for ageism or constructive dismissal in the workplace.

Solicitor Two:

“Look you know it was ageism and constructive dismissal but forget them, you might not get £12k payment. Move on with life.”
COST:

  • £12K
  • No Win No Fee does not apply for ageism or constructive dismissal in the workplace.

Solicitor Three:

“Obvious constructive dismissal and ageism in the workplace but you might not win.”
COST:

  • £12k
  • Try ACAS and see if they can contact the company.
  • No Win No Fee does not apply for ageism or constructive dismissal in the workplace.

ACAS

ACAS spoke to the HR Director who denied the company has a problem with ageism and made me redundant because the “operating model” was changing. ACAS could take up the case but it might take up to 12 months because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

So That's That...

If you run a company.

  • Create a new "Operating Model".
  • Tell the member of staff you are making them redundant.
  • Offer them a new position, make sure it is for half their current salary.

If you are an employee.

  • GIVE UP, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO.......
